MESS — Master Exporter & Scene Setup

A Blender N-panel that turns a messy production file into collections, colliders, and a versioned GLB export.

Game-ready and real-time jobs kept dying in the same place: the file was “done” in Blender and still not exportable. Collections were wrong. Colliders were missing. UI assets had a different naming scheme than the master. Somebody had to sit in the file and remember the steps.

MESS is that checklist as a panel. Master Exporter & Scene Setup.

What it does

The addon lives in the GrooveTech MESS tab. It creates the collection structure, builds colliders (including convex hulls), strips loose geometry, applies modifiers, fetches interactable and animated objects into lists, and exports a versioned master GLB plus UI-asset GLBs.

Version plus/minus, filename matching, and “export master file” are operators on the same panel, so the next person can bump a version and ship without reconstructing the path from chat history.

What I do not claim

I did not invent glTF, and I did not own every mesh that went through this exporter. Artists still made the content. MESS is the scene contract and the export button for that contract.
