Mesh and Rig Unifier
Join the meshes, join the armatures, and point the armature modifiers at one rig.
Scan and character jobs arrive as many meshes and sometimes many armatures. Export and retarget want one body and one rig. Doing the join by hand, then repairing modifiers, is a good way to miss an object.
What it does
MaRU (Mesh and Rig Unifier) joins selected meshes onto a target mesh, joins armatures onto a target armature, and adds or retargets an Armature modifier so the unified mesh is actually bound to the unified rig.
What I do not claim
This does not replace a full character TD pass. Skinning, weights, and the artistic bind are still a person’s job. MaRU is the unify step so that pass starts from one mesh and one armature.
